Lee Estate in the very heart of King's Island came alive when our Giant Grandmother decided on her rounds to visit the area which is named after our long-serving priest, the late Canon PJ Lee. Having been driven along the Island Road, she decided to take time out to stop in the green patch adjacent to the houses. While there, she took out her spectacles and began to read an intriguing tale touching on our great Irish warrior, Fionn McCool. And whereas the good lady read the tale in the German language, it was that magnificent man, Dieter, famous for starring in many episodes of “Killinascully,” (most of which episodes were co-scripted by our very own award-winning playwright, Mike Finn), who afforded the vast number of listeners the joy of hearing the story in English. Oh, what a spirited and gifted actor this man is! He had us all spellbound down in that ordinary green on Lee Estate that we casually walk on a daily basis. On Saturday last that patch of greenery came alive to a degree that I doubt we will ever again witness.
Then as cool as you like our dear rather mischievous Granny had a huge blue pillow placed behind her head and off she naturally descended into a deep sleep for two and a half hours.
